Before or after the escape

Hire our lounge bar or presentation room exclusively for workshops, presentations, meetings and product launches. Coffee, tea and mint-lime water are included; other drinks from the price list.

Is your staff party deductible?

In principle a staff party is 100% tax deductible, both VAT and income tax, as long as you follow a few basic rules.

  • One party a year is tax deductible.
  • You must invite all staff. Only management or a selection isn’t allowed. It doesn’t matter if not everyone comes: what counts is that everyone was invited. Temps and student workers don’t have to be invited.
  • The party is held for Christmas, New Year, Saint Nicholas (or another patron saint’s day), or for staff decorations or retirements. The timing is broadly interpreted.
  • Costs for decoration, personalisation or extra entertainment are deductible too.
  • More than 50 staff? Split the party over several days or groups: our maximum is 50 people, and the event can run over a whole week or month. Partners, children and former staff may be invited, but their VAT isn’t deductible.

Tip: an original escape gift box to wrap your gift vouchers is deductible, if it’s only used for the invitation.

Product presentations can also be combined with an escape, outside the yearly staff party, if the activity mainly informs the end seller. You must be able to prove this with a publicity file.
